Jenna-Clare Allen is a Tennessee native, though she has lived the life of a gypsy princess. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in theological studies. She, her husband and son live in Cleveland, Ohio, a city that they are completely nuts about. Though she has written for as long as she can remember, As the Spark Flies Upward is Ms. Allen’s first novel. She also writes poetry, non-fiction and children’s stories.
Ms. Allen is married to a remarkable composer, Dr. Jeremy Allen, her best friend and trusty side-kick in all wild and otherwise hair-brained endeavors. They have been married for a decade. During any free moments that Jenna-Clare has from her job as full-time mother/wife/writer, she enjoys painting and design, cooking, reading, making things beautiful, doing anything outdoors with her family and living life in community with family and friends. She is a grade-A goof-off and a grade-B tennis-player. Her favorite color is green, she has a clandestine obsession with wind chimes, a huge respect for any woman who chooses natural childbirth, and wears a size ten shoe.
